About Me
I didn’t plan on becoming a product designer.
I found it by building something that failed.
In 2013, while finishing a degree in Computer Animation at SAU, I built a messaging app with a fellow student. I took on the design work (using Photoshop to build my first UI mockups) while my friend wrote the code. A few weeks later, we launched an MVP and recruited our friends on campus as our first users.
Fast forward a few months; we formed an LLC, threw up a website, and even earned our first revenue selling advertising to a local grocery store. Later that year, my co-founder and I were accepted into the Jumpstart Foundry incubator in Nashville. This was an incredible learning experience that pushed us out of our comfort zone and had us pitching to an audience of over 150 people on demo day. While our company ultimately closed a year later when we ran out of funding, the experience made one thing clear: this was the work I wanted to do.
I joined redpepper as a junior UX designer, cutting my teeth on complex enterprise tools for Deloitte. A year later, I joined GS&F to help design a smart thermostat app for Carrier Corporation (back when “smart home” still felt futuristic).
In 2017, I became a Senior Product Designer at Asurion, where I spent 7 years designing fraud-detection systems, service scheduling apps, and even a point-of-sale platform (see case study). It was there that my craft sharpened and my penchant for visual design flourished. I learned how to navigate ambiguity, manage stakeholders, and make hard trade-offs without compromising taste.
In 2021, I co-founded CareCrown, a gamified performance management platform for home healthcare providers. What began as a nights-and-weekends passion project became my full-time focus 3 years later. I led UX and product management to build CareCrown from the ground up, aiming to help homecare providers attract and retain caregivers (see case study).
Today, I continue to grow CareCrown while exploring new ventures outside of tech, including a brick-and-mortar investment here in Nashville. I continue to be fascinated by the invisible systems that shape behavior, whether in software or in the real world.
At my core, I’m drawn to craft.
A beautiful typeface. The flowing lines of a sports car or motorcycle. The precision and weight of a finely built watch.
Design, to me, is about tension. Tension between elegance and utility, simplicity and depth, speed and thoughtfulness.
Outside of work, you’ll find me on a tennis court, a hockey rink, or on a snowboard chasing “fresh pow”. Sports are my therapy, and I love the thrill of competition and the feeling of pushing myself to the limit. When less active, I’m playing guitar, studying chess positions, or riding my Ducati through Tennessee backroads.
